Everything I make is a portrait. Portraits of people, of places, of cityscapes and landscapes, of small intimate subjects in nature, and abstract places in my imagination. But they are all portraits of places I’ve been, people I’ve known and things I’ve seen. Portraits that attempt to capture a likeness, a personality, a mood of the subject. Portraits that tell a story through layers of light, space and color. Portraits searching for connection, understanding, a sense of place within the world.
